Kari & Rickie’s Fremont Street Wedding Photos in Downtown Las Vegas
After their wedding ceremony at Chapel of the Flowers, Kari and Rickie headed downtown for a relaxed wedding photo session on Fremont Street. They wanted something simple: a collection of great photographs that captured the two of them as newlyweds without turning their wedding day into hours of posing. Fremont Street was a natural fit, giving us plenty of variety within one walkable area and a distinctly Las Vegas backdrop.
We started beneath the Fremont Street Experience canopy. Even during the daytime, the massive LED display overhead fills the street with shifting colors and patterns. Against Kari’s white wedding dress and Rickie’s black tuxedo, all of that color gave us a bold backdrop while still keeping the focus on the two of them.
Finding the Light on Fremont Street
One of the things I enjoy about Fremont Street photos is how quickly the look can change as you walk. Just a short distance from the colorful canopy, we found rows of warm casino lights that created a completely different atmosphere.
For Kari and Rickie, it gave us an opportunity to move in closer and create something more intimate. Instead of making every photograph about the landmarks around them, we could use the lights and activity of Downtown Las Vegas as a backdrop while concentrating on their expressions and interaction.
Classic Downtown Las Vegas
Continuing along Fremont Street brought us back underneath the canopy with some of the area's familiar casino signs and characters surrounding us. This is where a Fremont Street wedding session really starts to feel different from photos on the Las Vegas Strip.
There's always something happening in the background, from changing lights overhead to vintage casino marquees and the people moving through the street. Rather than trying to remove that energy from the photographs, I like incorporating it. Kari and Rickie still remain the focus, but the surroundings make it immediately clear where they spent part of their wedding day.
A Little Old Vegas Along the Way
As we continued our walk, we stopped in front of one of Fremont Street's classic casino marquees. The oversized lettering, rows of bulbs, and downtown architecture gave us another completely different setting without needing transportation or losing time traveling between locations.
Kari leaning in to give Rickie a kiss added a playful moment to the scene. It is exactly the kind of photograph that works well in Downtown Las Vegas because the surroundings can be big and energetic while the moment between the couple stays simple.
Ending with a Las Vegas Classic
We finished this part of their Fremont Street photo session with another unmistakably Vegas backdrop. The vintage-style Las Vegas signage and warm casino lights gave us a fitting final setting for Kari and Rickie’s newlywed portraits.
Their session is a good example of how much variety is possible with a single Downtown Las Vegas location. In one walk along Fremont Street, we were able to work with the colorful canopy, warm casino lights, classic signs, and the constant energy of the city while keeping the experience straightforward and relaxed.
Kari and Rickie didn't need an elaborate multi-location photography schedule to come away with photographs that felt like Vegas. Their Fremont Street wedding photos were about enjoying some time together after the ceremony and letting Downtown Las Vegas provide the scenery. For couples planning an elopement or intimate wedding, a Fremont Street photo session can be an easy way to add some classic Las Vegas character to the day without spending hours traveling around the city.
